A pressure test subjects a system or component to a pressure above its normal working pressure, to prove its structural integrity, find leaks and confirm it performs safely under extreme conditions. Pressure tests are performed on pipelines, tanks, vessels, industrial equipment and many other components.
Our pressure testing services
- Hydrostatic (hydro) testing
- Pneumatic testing
- Non-destructive testing of welds and components before and after the test
How a test is carried out
- Preparation — the system is drained, cleaned and fitted with calibrated pressure measuring equipment.
- Pressurisation — pressure is raised gradually with pressure pumps or specialised equipment.
- Monitoring — pressure, temperature and hold time are monitored and recorded throughout.
- Evaluation — results are checked against the specified requirements; leaks or issues are repaired before the system is accepted as safe.
Regular pressure testing reduces the risk of failures and accidents, so systems operating under high pressure can run efficiently and safely.
